PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reduction gear which is compact and has a torque limiter function by itself, capable of smoothly transmitting driving force and usable under explosion-proof atmosphere, and which also has a simple constitution for a clutch mechanism to be used and exceedingly facilitates an inspection and maintenance. SOLUTION: In the electric reduction gear 1 transmitting the rotation of a prime mover 2 to an output shaft 33 via a planetary reduction mechanism 3 that permits the rotation of an inner gear 32, the internal gear 32 of the reduction mechanism 3 is provided with a dry disc brake device 4. The brake device 4 is integrated with the reduction mechanism 3, and a toroidal discoid disc 41 connected to the internal gear 32 of the reduction mechanism 3 is disposed between the prime mover 2 and the planetary gear mechanism 3.
