INTERFERENCE SEMITRANSMISSIVE REFLECTION PLATE AND POLARIZING PLATE ATTACHED WITH INTERFERENCE SEMITRANSMISSIVE REFLECTION PLATE USING THE SAME, TRANSFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL SUBSTRATE AND TRANSFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference semitransmissive reflection plate with which a bright display is obtainable in a reflective mode as external incident light rays are reflected except for rays in a specified wavelength region and a bright display is also obtainable in a transmissive mode as a backlight system emitting light rays in the specified wavelength region is used in the transmissive mode and to provide a polarizing plate attached with the interference semitransmissive reflection plate, a transflective liquid crystal substrate and a transflective liquid crystal display device using the same.

SOLUTION: The interference semitransmissive reflection plate is a semitransmissive reflection plate used for the liquid crystal display device and constructed by using an interference filter which transmits light rays in the specified wavelength region and reflects light rays in the other wavelength region wherein the wavelength of the transmitted light rays is made to nearly coincide with a wavelength exhibiting the maximum luminance in an emission spectrum of a light source of the backlight and the transmittance of the light rays in the vicinity of the wavelength where a peak value of the emission spectrum of the backlight exists is made to be 30% or more.
