<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rental system and a method for executing customer contract business and picture commodity lending-out business of a rental video store via a network. <P>SOLUTION: This rental system is composed of a user terminal A 1, a store server 2, a credit sales company server 3, and a communication network X 100 such as the Internet for mutually connecting these user terminal A 1, store server 2, and credit sales company server 3. The store server 2 registers a contractor according to access via the network X 100 from a user, and executes selection of a commodity by the user and lending-out of the selected commodity via the network X 100.
