PURPOSE: A method for authenticating an user in a banking terminal is provided to enhance the security and reduce a load of a host in an authentication process by using a client's vital recognition information instead of PIN(Personal Identification Number). CONSTITUTION: A client's vital recognition information is stored in a bank card for a banking terminal(S1). A card reader reads the client's vital recognition information stored in the bank card(S2,S3). A vital information recognition unit reads the user's vital recognition information(S4-S6). The client's vital recognition information is compared to the user's vital recognition information(S7). The admission of the banking terminal is determined by a compared result(S7,S10). The authentication data are transmitted to a host side if the banking terminal is admitted by the compared result(S11). |
