The signal emitter has a light guide (13) extending from an emitting end (29) in the direction of a light source arranged on a circuit board, spaced apart from the emitting end. The emitting end of the light guide (13) passes through an opening in the bottom of a cover, and is held in front of the light source in a hollow base supporting the cover. Light guides of variable lengths are surrounded by covers of variable heights and/or bases of variable lengths.
