摘要 PURPOSE: A method for rubbing an alignment film of a liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce scratch inferiority due to step coverage of an active area and prevent spots from generating at the active area due to step coverage. CONSTITUTION: An alignment film(201) is formed on a substrate(200) having a plurality of cells. A rubbing mask(220) is installed on the alignment film for masking parts except an active area. An ion blower(203) is operated on the alignment film for removing static electricity and ion materials generated in a rubbing process from the alignment film. The substrate is attached to a rubbing stage(216). A rubbing roll(202), a rubbing fabric(205), and a support(213) are installed on the rubbing stage. The rubbing fabric rubs the alignment film attached with the rubbing mask while the rubbing state moves in a certain direction.
