The passive vibration damper (1) has an annular damping mass (2) with an elastomeric spring (6) connected to a hub (8). The annular mass is coaxial to the main axis of the damper and is connected to the hub by sprung spokes of the spring. The spokes are not at right angles or rotationally symmetrical to the damper main axis. The spokes can have an angle of maximum forty five dress, preferably thirty degrees.
