OPTICAL CONNECTION SLEEVE, OPTICAL MODULE, AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION MODULE

A resin sleeve is used as an optical connection sleeve (1) for optically connecting an optical fiber (41) with an optical element such as an optical device (51). A ferrule fixing face (21) to be provided in the inner periphery of the ferrule inserting section (2) of the sleeve (1) is formed into a polyhedron with a hexagonal cross section in a face perpendicular to the optical axis (A). This constitution enables a ferrule (40) to be fixed by high−precision positioning under shrink fit based on the elastic deformation of resin. The outer periphery of the ferrule (40) and the ferrule fixing face (21) come into a linear contact, so that the detachability of the ferrule (40) is improved. This results in the realization of an optical connection sleeve which holds an optical fiber ferrule with a high precision and has a favorable detachability, an optical module, and an optical communication module.
