The compact system consists of a drive unit (15) with coolant compressor (14), a heat exchanger (18) to heat, and a heat exchanger (17) to cool cab air. It forms a modular unit fitted into the back wall (6) of the cab. All components are contained in one housing, and the section (7) of the system containing the heat exchangers is located with in the cab, while the section (8) containing the remaining components is located outside the cab. This section is protected by parts of a rock fall protection roof. The system is operated by a hydraulic motor.
