<p>A new improved system for improving posture in the thoracic area and firming and toning abdominal muscles, utilizing inflatable air pockets. The air of the pocket can increase or decrease, controlling the degree of posture and comfort desired. There is a thoracic device, an abdominal device, a combination of thoracic and abdominal, and also a use in combination with a brassiere (bra). Upon inflating the air pocket in the thoracic device, it would exert pressure to the dorsal upper thoracic area, thus causing the shoulders to pull back and allowing the person to stand up with good posture and hence prevent stooping. In the abdominal device the air pocket would be inflated and exert pressure inwards towards the abdomen hence toning abdominal muscles passively. The same concept as in the thoracic device and the abdominal device could be utilized in a combination device for improving posture and firming abdominal muscles at the same time, by connecting an inflatable back piece to an inflatable stomach piece with a solid rod running along the back area, which would also enhance and facilitate good posture by giving additional support to the entire back. The same concept of improving posture with these inflatable air pockets can be applied to a brassiere utilizing the same principle by inflating air into a back piece air pocket which would then exert pressure to the thoracic area and would help the shoulders pull back, hence improving posture of the woman wearing the bra. In general many people suffer from poor posture and are stooped over and have neck and back problems. Improvement in posture is known to increase energy and to reduce neck or back pain.</p> |
