POROUS CERAMIC MEDIA FOR TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF

PURPOSE: The porous ceramic media for treatment of wastewater is provided to remove the harmful material in wastewater by adsorption and reaction, and give durability with heat resistance and chemical resistance. CONSTITUTION: The porous ceramic media comprises 5 to 25 wt.% of fine ceramic, 25 wt.% or less of carbon, 15 to 50 wt.% of carbonate, and 30 to 60 wt.% of binder. The method comprises a process that make homogeneous mixture by adding water after dry-mixing the buoyant filter, a process that molds the mixture to 2-5ψmm sphere with molding machine, a process that dries the sphere at 10-20 deg.C in the shade, and a process which cools the filter after drying the filter for 2 hours at 100 deg.C, calcining the dried filter for 2 hours at 850 deg.C and more than 3 hours at 900-1050 deg.C.
