PURPOSE: A device for opening and shutting a windshield for heavy equipment using a gas spring is provided to improve driver's convenience by facilitating the opening shutting of the windshield and to prevent an accident by preventing the windshield from being rapidly descending along a guide rail, in shutting the windshield. CONSTITUTION: A device for opening and shutting a windshield for heavy equipment using a gas spring(10) has the gas spring installed to the ceiling of a cab; a wire one end of which is fixed to the gas spring and the other end of which is fixed to the lower end of the windshield; and a locking unit gearing, in operating a locking lever formed to a handle of the windshield. The gas spring moves the windshield along a guide rail up and down. The wire prevents the windshield from being rapidly moved down along the guide rail. The locking unit detachably locks the windshield to a frame of the cab.
