PURPOSE: A method for plating umbrella frames is provided in which a separate physical rust removing process is not performed so that productivity is improved by reducing working process, and product of high quality is produced by improving the plating state using electroless nickel plating. CONSTITUTION: The method for plating umbrella frames comprises degreasing process of performing alkali washing to remove oil materials including iron powder, abrasive and dust stuck to the surface of the umbrella frames; acid treatment process of removing scale by dipping the degreased umbrella frames into hydrochloric acid, acidic degreaser, scale remover, and brittleness preventing agent; washing process of washing the umbrella frames by dipping the acid treated umbrella frames into water of an ordinary temperature; and plating process of depositing a metallic covering on the surface of the umbrella frames using electroless nickel plating by dipping the umbrella frames contained in a plating can made of a synthetic resin into a plating pot, wherein the plating process is performed in the state that umbrella frames consisting umbrella support and umbrella spokes are contained in the plating can made of synthetic resin on which a plurality of penetration holes are formed.
