PURPOSE: A process for producing polymer beads is provided to obtain polymer beads having a high crosslinking degree, a narrow particle size distribution and a uniform particle size. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing polymer beads comprises the steps of: adding a solution containing a crosslinking agent and a fat soluble initiator to a solution containing ion exchange water and a polymer stabilizer, agitating them under a high speed, homogenizing the solution in a homogenizer and then polymerizing them to obtain seed polymers; and cooling the seed polymer latex to room temperature, adding dropwise a solution containing a monomer, crosslinking agent and fat soluble initiator thereto, swelling and polymerizing them to obtain polymer beads having a particle diameter between 1 and 40 micrometers.
