The present invention is related to the mining industry and minerals treatment. Specifically, is related with a dissolution composition that allows the use of copper thiosulfate in ammoniacal means in the presence of oxidant agents, such as the cupric ion. Specifically, the invention refers to a dissolution that improves the silver extraction speed, starting from minerals or other silver-containing materials, improving the copper thiosulfate stability in the lixiviating dissolution. The invention consists in a lixiviation dissolution comprising ethylenediaminetetracetic acid (EDTA) in any of its soluble forms. In its preferred modality EDTA is found in a proportion of 0.1% to 2% in weight with reference to the total solution.
