PURPOSE: A catalyst heating-operating condition cut-off and method of a manual transmission vehicle is provided to improve accelerating ability and damping ability of the vehicle by interrupting operating under catalyst heating conditions. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst heating-operating condition cut-off comprises a clutch switch(2) detecting working of a clutch pedal(1) after starting; a gearshift lever switch(4) detecting a gearshift lever(3) of a neutral state moving into a traveling range; and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,5) detecting an engine operating under catalyst heating conditions, detecting the clutch switch and the gearshift lever switch operating, and interrupting the operating state under catalyst heating conditions. Thus, traveling under catalyst heating conditions is prevented.
