<p>PURPOSE: A method for obtaining data management information including information concerning a part of a data area as information concerning a pseudo area is provided to quickly obtain data management information within a short time and to rapidly acquire desired information upon the request for obtaining information related to the recording of data recorded on an information recording medium. CONSTITUTION: On an information recording medium(15), a recording area is divided into a plurality of data areas and data is recorded on each of the data areas. Upon the request for obtaining data management information concerning a recording of the data recorded on each of the data areas, a plurality of predetermined data areas among the foregoing data areas are regarded as a predetermined pseudo area and the data management information including information concerning the predetermined pseudo area is obtained.</p> |
