APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING WOBBLE SIGNAL IN WOBBLE PHASE LOCKED LOOP

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting a wobble signal in a wobble phase locked loop are provided to prevent a slope detection error due to inflow of a notch or spark shaped radio frequency noise into an analog wobble signal, thereby detecting the stabilized wobble signal. CONSTITUTION: An ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter) converts an analog wobble signal read from an optical disk and band pass filtered into a digital signal. A slope detector(21) detects slopes of the wobble signal according to a change value of the converted wobble signal. A wobble detector(22) detects a peak point of the wobble signal by using the detected slopes for detecting and outputting a square wave wobble signal transitted to a high level or a low level at the peak point. The slope detector operates and accumulates changed values of wobble signal data sampled in a predetermined section where two or more converted wobble signals are sampled, and weighted values preliminarily set to detect the slope.
