1314829 Rotary cultivator and seeder ROTARY HOES Ltd 31 July 1970 [26 Aug 1969] 42404/69 Heading A1B A multi-purpose rotary cultivator which is adapted to deposit seed and/or fertiliser on the soil comprises a mobile frame, carried on wheels 35, and by the three-point-linkage of a tractor, a rotor shaft, 27, driven by the tractor p.t.o. and carrying cultivating tools 28, one or two hoppers, 53, for seed and/or fertiliser and means for feeding the material into or on to the ground. The feeding means include pockets 58, containing roller-feeders (not shown), flexible tubes 60 and terminal tubes 61 which pass through the trailed cover 43 and whose outlets 63 face rearwardly. In operation the rotor rotates on a transverse axis usually in direction A. Seed or fertiliser is deposited on the fine soil produced by the tools 28 via the tube 61 which is placed behind the rotor with respect to its movement (left to right in Fig. 1). In an alternative arrangement the tube takes position 61' allowing fertiliser to be fed forward of the tools so that it is mixed with the tilled soil. In further modifications, the feeding means include a number of parallel curved, rigid, hollow rods (65), Fig. 3 (not shown) down which seed passes or flexible tubes (69) attached to a rigid rod (68), Fig. 4 (not shown) or a number of forked hollow rigid tubes, (71), Fig. 5 (not shown). |
