PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing a remote service in a key-phone are provided to use a key-phone terminal mounted to a remote site and connect the key-phone terminal to a key-phone system without connecting directly the key-phone terminal with a key-phone line network within the office, thereby receiving various key-phone services being offered by the corresponding key-phone system. CONSTITUTION: An extension interface unit(330) plays a role for matching a communication line, thereby capable of performing communication through connection between an extension line and a local line or a digital communication line. A local line interface(340) plays a role for matching a communication line, thereby capable of performing communication through connection between a local line and an extension line or a digital communication line. A communication module(360) connects to a communication line of an IP address for performing a telephone call, modulates a coded signal, then transmits it via a network in a key-phone central processing device and then demodulates a received modulation signal. A CODEC(350) codes an audio signal and a key-phone signal for transmitting and decodes a received audio signal and key-phone signal. A memory(310) stores a program relating to key-phone additional functions and key-phone service relation data. A control unit(300) controls the key-phone system generally. The control unit(300) analyzes the key-phone control signal received via the communication module(360) by using the program and data stored to the memory(310), executes a key-phone additional function corresponding to the analyzed result and also produces a switching control signal corresponding to the analyzed result, thereby controlling a switching unit(320). The switching unit(320) switches a connection of a communication line among the local line, extension line and digital communication line according to the switching control signal applied from the control unit(300).
