METHOD FOR PRODUCING TEAR SEAM IN THIN SHEETS AND THIN SHAPED PIECES

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a tear seam in thin sheets and thin shaped pieces in which a tear seam with a defined material weakness is made during the manufacture process of the thin sheet or shaped piece. CONSTITUTION: The tear seam in thin sheets and thin shaped pieces is manufactured using a thermal shaping procedure, in which a surface shape is firmly applied to a side of the thin film or thinly shaped piece by application onto the surface of a mold. The material is in a plastic state for a certain time. The tear seam is formed in the material by a mold tool with a shaping element during the plastic phase. The mold tool is positioned to a defined distance from the mold surface, and is removed again before the material hardens. The mold tool with its shaping elements is first moved to a position on the mold surface and is withdrawn by a defined distance.
