PURPOSE: A device for fixing a cylinder of a rotary compressor is provided to prevent deformation of the cylinder by using a fixing unit for fixing the cylinder inserted in a hermetic vessel. CONSTITUTION: A device for fixing a cylinder(33) of a rotary compressor(3) comprises a hermetic vessel body(11) with through upper and lower sides of a cylindrical shape; an electromotive mechanism part(20) mounted inside the body, to generate rotational force; the cylinder inserted in the body, to compress a refrigerant gas by the driving force of the electromotive mechanism part; and a fixing unit(140) covering the lower opening of the body and fixing the cylinder. An upper cover covers the upper opening of the body. The fixing unit comprises a lower cover part(141) covering the lower side of the body, and a lower bearing part(142) connected with the lower cover part. The lower bearing part fixes the lower side of the cylinder. Thus, heat deformation is prevented and the compression efficiency is improved.
