PURPOSE: A propeller shaft absorbing axial shock for a vehicle is provided to prevent axial shock caused by colliding a spline shaft with a sleeve yoke by a damping part, which is installed inside the sleeve yoke, absorbing shock when the relative movements of the spline shaft and the sleeve yoke are excessive. CONSTITUTION: A propeller shaft absorbing axial shock for a vehicle is a front shaft, of which a front end is connected to a principal axis of a transmission through a universal joint, integrally having a spline shaft formed with a spline at an outer diameter at the back, a rear shaft of which a rear end is coupled to a final reduction gear through the universal joint with integrally having a hollow pipe shape sleeve yoke(7a), which is combined with the spline shaft to move in an axial direction, at a front side, and a damping part reducing the moving of the spline shaft when the movement of the spline shaft for the rear shaft is excessive. The damping part has a housing(12) installed to an opposite side of the spline shaft to be filled with viscous fluid, a rod(14) of which both ends are fixed with disks(15a,15b) respectively with passing through the housing to locate the inside and outside of the housing and moving in an axial direction of the spline, and a spring(16) elastically supporting the rod toward the spline shaft.
