PURPOSE: A method for managing resources of a base station of a mobile communication system is provided to allow a user to check a resource state of a base station on a real time basis by periodically calculating availability ratio of forward/reverse resources in a base station and informing the user of resource utilization degree by grades. CONSTITUTION: A processor of a base station checks the number of resources currently available in the base station(S101). The processor checks a feasibility that the currently available resources can be actually used(S102). If the number of currently available resources is greater than the number of stored available resources, the processor informs a user of a fault(S107). When the feasibility is checked, the processor calculates a resource availability ratio(S103). The processor compares the calculated resource availability ratio with previously stored threshold values of each grade. If an availability grade is changed, the processor informs a user of a BSM(Base Station Manager) that the grade has been changed(S105), and takes a step of increasing or decreasing a resource(S106).
