METHOD FOR ADJUSTING SPEED OF SURFACE-VIBRATING OPTICAL DISC

PURPOSE: A method for adjusting speed of a surface-vibrating optical disc is provided to preliminarily judge surface vibration of an optical disc and downward adjust a driving speed to an outer periphery of the surface-vibrating optical disc, thereby normally recording and playing the surface-vibrating optical disc. CONSTITUTION: An optical disc is loaded(S10). A microcomputer rotates the optical disc and executes focusing and tracking servo adjusting operations to the rotating optical disk(S11). It is judged whether the servo adjusting operations are completed(S20). The microcomputer rotates the optical disc in a CLV(Constant Linear Velocity) method and moves an optical pickup to an utmost outer periphery of the optical disc to easily judge surface vibration of the optical disc(S21). The microcomputer judges the surface vibration of the optical disc by detecting a level of a focusing error signal(S22). If the optical disc is judged as a surface-vibrating optical disc, the microcomputer downward adjusts a driving speed to the outer periphery of the optical disc(S30-S31).
