PURPOSE: A method for managing channel information of a digital TV is provided to prevent erroneous operations of the digital TV in advance by preparing an error by logical channels with a check sum. CONSTITUTION: If a user changes a channel or navigates a service provided from a service provider, a digital TV inspects a channel check sum of the channel information to judge whether the channel check sum has an error(S1-S2). If so, the digital TV tunes the channel and updates the channel information stored in a memory(S3-S4). The digital TV generates a channel check sum related to the channel information and updates a multiplexing check sum and an entire check sum(S5). In the case that the channel check sum has no error, the digital TV displays video and audio of the changed channel(S6). |
