PURPOSE: To provide a microprocessor capable of reducing power consumption caused for the execution of the data operation with satisfying the arithmetic performance required in response to data which is processed by an application program (AP). CONSTITUTION: An operation part 131 is provided with a plurality of partial operation parts which fetch data in synchronization with a clock signal and execute an operation, that is to say, the operation part 131 is provided with a partial operation part 132a capable of computing for 8 bit data, a partial operation part 132b capable of computing for 4 bit data, and a partial operation part 132c. A clock interruption control part 136 controls the interruption of the clock signals (CLKA, CLKB, CLKC) which are supplied to each partial operation part based on the designation of AP. The clock interruption control part 136 outputs only CLKA when 8 bit mode is designated; outputs CLKA and CLKB when 12 bit mode is designated; outputs CLKA, CLKB, and CLKC when 16 bit mode is designated.
