PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the uniform and efficient filtering of a slurry and to uniformize and reduce the liquid content of a dehydrated cake while preventing the collapse or scattering of the cake at the time of release of vacuum suction force. SOLUTION: In this vacuum filter apparatus constituted so that the vacuum tray 14 connected to a vacuum suction device is provided under the filter cloth provided to the apparatus main body so as to be capable of running in an almost horizontal direction and the slurry supplied to the upper surface of the filter cloth is sucked under vacuum by the vacuum tray 14 through the filter cloth to be filtered, vacuum suction chambers 19, 19A and 19B allowing vacuum suction force to act on the slurry S from the suction holes bored in the upper surface part 18 of the vacuum tray 14 through the filter cloth 11 are formed to the vacuum tray 14 under the upper surface part 18 of the vacuum tray 14 and connected to the vacuum suction device at a plurality of places, between which an interval is provided, at least in one of the running direction F and width direction of the filter cloth.
