PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize printing of a bar code by an ink jet printer in order to print the bar code with a higher accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for printing a bar code comprises a step for forming a bar code element 502 by printing a horizontal bar 504, a step for printing a horizontal filling bar 604 between the horizontal bars 504 in the bar code element 502, and a step for forming a bar code element edge 606 having an end edge 610 of the horizontal bar 504.
