PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus for preventing the deterioration of observation performance such as a defective field of view caused by the infiltration of high temperature steam through a gap between an objective optical system comprising an imaging device and a frame and through a gap between the package of an imaging device and the frame and for preventing the occurrence of a flare caused by the reflection of incident light by allowing the outer peripheral surface of an optical member positioned on a top end to have a low reflection plane. SOLUTION: An imaging device 12 is composed of an objective lens group 14, an imaging element 20 and a metallic frame 17. Cover glass 18 is air-tightly bonded to the inner peripheral surface of the frame 17 on the side of the top end by metal welding via a coating face 30 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cover glass 18, and the outer peripheral surface of the package comprising the imaging element 20 is air-tightly bonded to the inner peripheral surface of the frame 17 on the side of a proximal end by metal welding such as brazing.
