<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set various kinds of parameters to a scanner printer from a host computer on a network including the scanner printer. <P>SOLUTION: In a scanner printer server system comprising the host computer 101, a scanner printer server 102, and a scanner 103 and a printer 104 both connected to the scanner printer server 102 on the network, bi-directional channels are set between the scanner 103, the printer 104 and the scanner printer server 102.
