ADSORBENT FOR CHLORINATED ORGANIC COMPOUND, TREATMENT METHOD OF EXHAUST GAS AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY REMOVING CHLORINATED ORGANIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove a chlorinated organic compound included in an exhaust gas by adsorption with a minor amount of an adsorbent.

SOLUTION: The treatment method of the exhaust gas includes a step of passing the exhaust gas through an adsorption tower 4 equipped with the adsorbent 4a containing a fibrous activated carbon with a specific surface area of at least 600 m2/g, a total pore volume of at least 0.2 cm3/g, an average pore diameter of 10-35 Å. In the treatment method, the temperature of the exhaust gas is normally set to 25-250°C, and the adsorbent 4a, for example, is formed into felt-like or honeycomb shape containing the fibrous activated carbon.
