PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the polymerization starting point of polymerization reaction in a polymer production process and a method for cooling control using the same. SOLUTION: The standard value of dissolved oxygen concentration at a polymerization starting point is previously obtained according to a monomer, the dissolved oxygen concentration of a monomer mixture in a tank is measured in real time in a process for producing a polymer of target in production. When the measured result becomes less than the dissolved oxygen concentration of the standard value, it is ascertained that the point of time is the polymerization starting point. Then cooling water at a fixed temperature is circulated through a jacket so that the polymerization temperature in the stirring tank is kept at a set polymerization temperature by using the polymerization starting point as a standard.
