PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plunger for a resin molding machine in which the occurrence of a gap is suppressed between the wall surface of a pot and the plunger and the plunger smoothly slides. SOLUTION: The plunger 4 for the resin molding machine comprises a joint 5 fixed to a plunger shaft 19, a sealing member 6 placed on the joint 5 and mad of a PTFE, and a head 7 fixed to the joint 5 via the member 6 between the head of the T-shaped section and the joint 5. The member 6 has a groove 11 provided circumferentially on the part bulged from the head 7 and a deformed part 12 between the groove 11 and the side face of the member 6 on the upper surface of the member 6. When the plunger 4 presses a molten resin 18, the part 12 is deformed toward the outside by receiving the pressure from the resin 18. Thus, the part 12 is brought into pressure contact with the wall surface of the pot 3 to perform a sealing function. Accordingly, the occurrence of the gap between the member 6 and the wall surface of the pot 3 is suppressed, and the plunger 4 is smoothly slid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
