PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk reproducing apparatus which can detect a position of an inserted disk and can discriminate between a large disk and a small disk by simple constitution. SOLUTION: A wiring board is disposed at one and a contactor is disposed at either one of a pair of detection levers which rotate with opening and closing by being linked with each other when the disk is inserted and a disk guiding plate on which these are mounted. A rotary switch is constituted of the wiring board and the contactor and detection of the position of the disk and discrimination of the large disk and the small disk are performed by difference of output signals of the rotary switch.
