PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive an L mode service by using general facsimile equipment not supporting the L mode service. SOLUTION: In a communication service for acquiring a retrieval item by connecting an L mode server 105 via a PSTN (public switched telephone network) 104 and for distributing contents data associated with a desired retrieval items from a data storage server 106 when the data storage server 106 is connected again by using a telephone number of a destination included in the desired retrieval item, it is constituted of an information terminal 101 for acquiring the retrieval item and for calling the data storage server 106, a FAX 103 for receiving the contents data and a line controller 102 for switching a connecting destination to the PSTN 104 between the information terminal 101 and the FAX 103, the connecting destination with the PSTN 104 is switched to the information terminal 101 in the case of acquiring the retrieval item and on the other hand, it is switched to the FAX 103 in the case of receiving the contents data.
