METHOD FOR OPENING GLASS CLOTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for opening glass cloth by which the glass cloth is sufficiently opened without causing slippage of stitch and fuzz. SOLUTION: A high-pressure liquid jetted into the air from a diffusing spray 2 becomes a water-spraying stream diffusing in the length direction of a roller 3. The water-spraying stream diffuses while splitting into upper and lower parts by vibration to provide a plate-like state. The water-spraying stream which becomes the plate-like state is split into a plurality of droplets 22 in the diffusing direction by surface tension. These droplets 22 collides with the surface of the glass cloth supported by the roller 3. Glass fiber bundles constituting the glass cloth 1 are spread by impact by collision with droplets 22.
