SEMICONDUCTOR LASER DEVICE AND LASER MODULE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device which has the stable oscillation wavelength of an oscillation laser beam and the multimoded oscillation spectrum. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser device is Fabry-Perot type having a layer structure D which has an active layer made of a quantum well structure, oscillating a laser beam having a stable wavelength by the operation of a return beam and in which the oscillation spectrum is multimoded. In this device, the relation between the light confinement coefficient per one well layer 5A1(5A2) and the thickness of the one well layer of the formula:Γ/d≤1.3×10-3nm-1is satisfied, whereinΓis the optical confinement coefficient per one well layer 5A1(5A2), and d (nm) is the thickness of the one well layer.
