PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping wall capable of being also applied to the existing structure and damping lateral vibration resulting from an earth quake of the like to the structure with great mass as soon as possible. SOLUTION: The vibration damping wall 1 includes a framing body 6, a frame body 8 placed in a wall space 7 surrounded by the framing body 6, connecting means 9 relatively connected to the frame body 8 and the framing body 6 in the in-plane of the wall space 7 in a rotatable manner and energy absorption bodies 10 provided among the frame body 8, the framing body 6 and the connecting means 9 so as to absorb the pivoting energy in the relative pivot in the in-plane wall space 7 of the connecting means 9 to the frame body 8 and the framing body 6.
