PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple cleaning apparatus which removes the dust precipitated on the bottom of a water vessel without completely discharging the cooling water for cleaning a cooling tower or stopping the cooling tower. SOLUTION: This siphon pump is provided with a manual piston pump 2 for generating siphon phenomenon, an extension pipe 3 and a nozzle 4 connected to a front part of the piston pump 2, and a bellows hose 5. To secure the air- tightness of each connection part, O-rings 61, 62, 63 are mounted. When the piston pump is manually operated and siphon is generated, the dust precipitated in the water vessel 11 is sucked and discharged. The pump is made out of a transparent resin to see through the inside, as the pump may be plugged by the sucked dust. A rear lid 7 of the piston pump is removable to take out the plugged dust.
