The roller comprises a chassis (2) with two vertical lateral supports (3,4) and two coils (5,6) of the same pitch each mounted on a central horizontal spindle (7,8). The spindle ends engage bearings located on the lateral supports. The coils are made from a metal band inclined to the vertical at an angel of between 5o and 85o and are located one behind the other with an offset on a half pitch. The central spindles are distant from each other by a coil diameter decreased by the width of the band.
