PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP in which deterioration of the characteristics of the panel can be suppressed. SOLUTION: This is a plasma display panel in which a pair of substrates 1, 5 arranging a group of electrodes are arranged facing each other so that a discharge space may be formed between the substrates 1, 5, and the surroundings of the substrates 1, 5 are sealed with a sealing member. A thin plate part 13 in which the thickness of the portion, where a glass rod 11 of the sealing member of the substrates 1, 5 is arranged, is made thinner than the other portion, is provided, and at that thin plate part 13, the glass rod 11 is positioned and arranged on the substrates 1, 5.
