PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device in which overall power consumption in the communication device is reduced without lowering communication processing power. SOLUTION: A communication slave unit 2a comprises a radio communication part 9a for communication processing by an RF signal, a communication seizing signal transmitting part 10a that transmits a communication seizing signal with infrared rays as a communication media, and a communication seizing signal receiving part 11a that receives the communication seizing signal. In a standby state, the power is supplied only to the communication seizing signal receiving part 11a. When the communication seizing signal is received at the communication seizing signal receiving part 11a, power supply to the radio communication part 9a is started, therefrom communication processing is performed at the radio communication part.
