PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system that uses a conventional device (control device) to efficiently remote-control various electronic devices (devices to be controlled). SOLUTION: Each of the devices 10, 20 to be controlled is provided with: a control section for creating data of a control menu; and a control means section that transmits the data of the control menu to a prescribed communication network 6 and transmits control data received via the communication network 6 to the control section. The control device 40 is provided with: a communication section that receives the data of the control menu via a prescribed communication network 7 and transmits operational data of the control menu on the basis of the received data; a display section that displays a display on the basis of the data of the control menu received by the communication section; an operation section that performs operations on the basis of the control menu displayed on the display section; and a control section that transmits control data of the devices 10, 20 to be controlled from the communication section by the operation of the operation section on the basis of the control menu.
