A golf ball (2) having an integral means for sensing temperature whereby a golfer can readily determine if a golf ball is at the optimum temperature fo r play. For purposes of indicating temperature, the ball (2) incorporates a thermochromic section (6) that will change color or become transparent or translucent at a predetermined temperature. The thermochromic section (6) ma y be printed in such a manner to indicate the condition of the ball.
