<p>An impregnating pitch having a softening point of about 90°C and a flash point above about 280 °C is prepared from a coal tar liquid. Preparation of the pitch involves sparging coal tar liquid with steam or an inert gas while maintaining the liquid at a temperature of from about 260 °C-270 °C.</p> |
