PURPOSE: An apparatus for setting time information in a GSM(Global System for Mobile communications) mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to display accurate time information in the GSM mobile communication terminal by automatically setting time information of an RTC(Real Time Clock) unit embedded in the GSM mobile communication terminal as reference time information. CONSTITUTION: An RTC unit(230) is embedded in a GSM mobile communication terminal(200). A DC(Digital Clock) unit(120) is embedded in a charger(100) having a charging circuit(110) for generating a reference digital clock signal for resetting the time of the RTC unit(230). A signal transmitting device including an input and output connector(210) and a plug(130) transmits the reference digital clock signal generated in the DC unit(120) to the GSM mobile communication terminal(200). A controller(220) controls the RTC unit(230) so that the time of the RTC unit(230) is reset through the reference digital clock signal transmitted by the signal transmitting device. An LCD(240) displays the time reset by the controller(220).
