SUCTION WELL OF SUBMERGED PUMP

PURPOSE: A suction well of a submerged pump is provided to improve efficiency of the submerged pump, to reduce cavitation phenomenon, and to prevent a malfunction of the submerged pump by improving a structure of the suction well and an orifice. CONSTITUTION: A submerged pump includes a water pump installed in a transverse wall stool(5) and connected to a suction well, a rectangular orifice formed at an inlet of the suction well, and a water wheel(3) positioned between the water pump and the suction well. A depressed suction well(1), which is formed by increasing height of the suction well, is formed in the submerged pump. A recessed coaming(8) is formed at an end of the water pump. The water wheel(3) is installed at a lower end of the recessed coaming(8) in order to maintain a gap between a bottom of the suction well and the water wheel(3). The orifice(2) has a rectangular sectional area.
