An upper jaw model is connected via a moment-of-force measuring device (3) with six degrees of freedom. Teeth (2) are releasably connected to the jaw by a controllable electromagnetic holding device (5). A comparator and decision device receives the output from the measuring device, and transits a control signal to the holding device to release the tooth according to the magnitude, direction of action, or variation with time of the force or moment, after force is applied to the tooth.
