PURPOSE: A method for designing a color compensating filter in a liquid crystal projector, and a filter according to the same are provided to improve the color reproducibility by differentiating the transmissivity of blue color wavelength from the transmissivity of R and G color wavelength. CONSTITUTION: Data is set according to spectrum distribution of a lamp and unit wavelength distribution of the spectrum transmissivity by colors of a color filter of a liquid crystal panel(S101). The data related to the spectrum transmissivity of a color compensating filter is adjusted(S102). Color coordinates and the transmissivity of R, G, B pixels, and result values of the color coordinates in simply compounding R, G, B pixels are calculated(S103). It is judged whether the color reproducibility satisfies a designer(S104). If so, design specification is settled(S105).
